Pick a route

Choose a test centre near you and open one of its routes. Every route tells you where it came from and how it was checked before you drive a metre of it.

Drive it with sat-nav and coaching

Spoken, heading-up directions the whole way round. On a practice drive a voice coach talks you through each approach; mock tests stay uncoached, because an examiner wouldn't prompt you.

Routes are desk-checked, not road-driven: they're built from community-reported route sheets and cross-referenced against map data, but nobody from us has driven them on the road. The app says so on every route. On the day, the examiner picks the route — treat these as rehearsal ground, and always drive the road in front of you rather than the screen.

Everything learners ask us before they install it.

Is it free?

Yes — completely, and for everyone. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases and no paid tier waiting behind a feature. Learners and instructors get the same app.

Is this an official DVSA test?

No. Driving Test Simulator is a training aid made by RDS HUB LTD. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the DVSA, the marking sheet is a DL25-style sheet rather than the DVSA's own, and a pass or fail in the app is a practice result — it has no bearing on your real test.

Do I need an instructor to use it?

No, but you do need someone legally able to supervise you. If you hold a provisional licence that means a supervising driver who is at least 21, has held a full licence for the same category for three years or more, and is insured for the car you're in.

An instructor can mark your mock test for you, and if one has linked with you, your reports and lesson history follow you.

Can I get it on iPhone?

Android only right now.

Does it need signal?

It works in the car without signal. A drive you record in a dead spot is stored on the device and syncs to your account once you're back on — so a marked mock test out in the sticks isn't lost.

Are these the real test routes?

They're built from community-reported route sheets and desk-checked against map data — cross-referenced and driven in simulation, not driven on the road by us. The app labels every route that way.

On test day the examiner chooses the route, so treat these as realistic rehearsal ground rather than a script. Roads and layouts change too, so drive what's actually in front of you.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open your profile and tap Delete account. If you can't get into the app, use the account deletion page and email us from the address you signed up with. Either way it's done within 30 days.

The honest bit

Driving Test Simulator is a training aid, not a driving test. Results in the app are practice records marked to a DL25-style sheet — they are not official driving test results, they don't predict or guarantee anything about your real test, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the DVSA.

Routes are desk-checked rather than road-driven, and the examiner picks the route on the day. The app never supervises you: you still need a legal supervising driver, a properly insured car, and your own eyes on the road ahead of anything on the screen.
